CUPOLA SANCTIS
SFÂNTUL ȘTEFAN
Steven’s grace was so great, that the apostles appointed him among the seven deacons, and the deacons elected him as archdeacon. After confessing his faith, the priests in Jerusalem, led by Caiaphas, found Steven guilty of blasphemy against Moses and God and condemned him to death. The attendants, among whom the Holy Apostle Luke, pretended they had seen an angel in Steven’s place just before the verdict was uttered. Before dying, he had the first registered theophany: “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.” During lapidation, he uttered, like Jesus Christ some time before: “Lord, lay not this sin to their charge.” He who has become the first unwithered flower of the Church’s crown – the name of Steven meaning “crown” – is celebrated on the 27th of December. Saint Stephen is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which develops bold notes of spices, dried plums, chocolate and accents of berries, spices, vanilla and butter. Dense and velvety, with pleasing and elegant tannins, the wine has a friendly structure but also a depth that dries you to the sensation of spice and wood. Its structure indicates that wine has good potential for evolution and aging.
